Let's introduce Bel Geddes ad his own greatest achievement known as the Futurama show, held in New York in 1939 during the World Fair of that year, and showed that the model of a city of tomorrow with 50,000 vehicles on the move, half million of various buildings and one million trees in miniature. Visitors wear badges saying "I have seen the future." Tell Carl Sagan book Murmurs of Earth: "In 1939, before my fifth birthday, my parents brought me there. The main attractions of the World Fair were the Trylon and Perisfera, a majestic and tapering tower and a sphere the size of a building in which there was something called The world of tomorrow. Sit on a ramp and below you, in miniature, a model of tomorrow was exquisitely detailed... light suspended highways full of cars and aerodynamic busy all citizens happy to play some future activities, the nature of which was difficult to guess with my limited experience of those times. But a message was communicated clearly: there was a future. " A recording commented: "Strange? Fantastic? Unbelievable? Remember, this is the world of 1960! " Just as the world was depicted futuristic distance of only twenty years.

Proprio così: il mondo futuribile era raffigurato a distanza di soli vent'anni.

I parchi occupavano un terzo dell'area della città, e sui tetti degli edifici bassi c'erano giardini e ristoranti. Altri tetti funzionavano da piattaforme d'atterraggio per aeroplani ed elicotteri". Un altro celebre designer, Raymond Loewy, incluse nella mostra una rampa di lancio per missili spaziali... ma poco somigliante a quelle attuali, dato che sembrava un enorme cannone.

Bel Geddes conceived for the GM a superhighway of the future with 14 lanes with different speeds: two to 50 mph, two to 75 miles, one hundred mph, connected by lanes of acceleration and deceleration. Skyscrapers were high quarter mile. One model even larger total was the Democracity, depiction of a perfect world with the metropolis of the future surrounded by ubertose campaigns, residential villages, a huge circular airport, etc.. On the other hand, it was also rebuilt a small section size (excluding the height, of course) who traveled on foot. Bel Geddes concepì per la GM una superautostrada futura con ben 14 corsie a velocità differenziata: due a 50 miglia orarie, due a 75 miglia, una a cento miglia all'ora, collegate da corsie di accelerazione e decelerazione. I grattacieli erano alti un quarto di miglio. Un modello complessivo ancor più vasto era la Democracity, raffigurazione di un mondo perfetto con la megalopoli del futuro attorniata da ubertose campagne, piccoli centri residenziali, un enorme aeroporto circolare, ecc. D'altra parte, venne ricostruita anche una piccola sezione a grandezza naturale (esclusa l'altezza, ovviamente) che si percorreva a piedi. Il Trylon e la Perisfera, dipinti di bianco e brillantemente illuminati di notte, erano visibili da qualsiasi punto di New York.
